Book Description
“An Industrial Product-Service System is characterized by the integrated and mutually determined planning, development, provision and use of product and service shares including its immanent software components in Business-to-Business applications and represents a knowledge-intensive socio-technical system.” – Meier, Roy, Seliger (2010) Since the first conference in 2009, the CIRP International Conference on Industrial Product-Service Systems has become a well-established international forum for the review and discussion of advances, research results and industrial improvements. Researchers from all over the world have met at previous IPS2 conferences in Cranfield (2009), Linköping (2010), Braunschweig (2011) and Tokyo (2012). In 2013, the 5th CIRP International Conference on Industrial Product-Service Systems is held in Bochum. Important topics of IPS2 research presented at the conference are: planning and development, sustainability, business models, operation, service engineering, knowledge management, ICT, modeling and simulation, marketing and economic aspects as well as the role of the human in IPS2.

Book Description
The scope of the research presented includes semantic-based integration of data services in smart grids achieved through following the proposed (S2)In-approach developed corresponding to design science guidelines. This approach identifies standards and specifications, which are integrated in order to build the basis for the (S2)In-architecture. A process model is introduced in the beginning, which serves as framework for developing the target architecture. The first step of the process stipulates to define requirements for smart grid ICT-architectures being derived from established studies and divided into two classes: architecture and non-functional requirements (NFR). Based on the architecture requirements, the following specifications have been basically selected: The IEC CIM representing a domain-specific data model, the OPC UA being a communication standard with special respects to information modeling, and WSMO as an approach to realize the concept of Semantic Web Services. The next step specifies to develop both, a semantic information model (integration of CIM and OPC UA) and semantic services (integration of CIM and WSMO). These two components are then combined to obtain the target architecture, which allows precise descriptions of services as well as their combination and semi-automatic execution. Finally, the NFR are considered in order to evaluate the architecture based on simulated, representative use cases.

Book Description
From their roots in the occupational alcohol programs in the 1940s, human services programs within organizations have grown exponentially. However, the seamless integration of each facet of those expanding programs into a cohesive whole has proven to be a major challenge. This book presents a comprehensive cross-section of experienced professionals who discuss their efforts to fully integrate employee assistance, work/life, and wellness services. This in-depth examination of concepts and practical application of integrated programs in sponsoring organizations provides practical strategies to make your own organization’s human services more useful, and therefore help employees be more productive. The latest research is clearly presented, with a wide-ranging review of current program models in notable organizations that illustrates exactly what is most effective in the field of work-based human services. This book provides a beneficial perspective on the present state of employee assistance, work/life and wellness services in the workplace, and then takes a detailed look at the economics of integration with a value-benefit analysis. Other chapters include program models at various organizations presented by the professionals fully involved in their implementation. Integration strategies are carefully described for academic settings; external service providers; internal programs; hybrid models; and the public sector. An in-depth critical analysis of integration, its effectiveness, and its real value is presented, along with a chapter on the future of the integration of work-based human services programs. The text is extensively referenced with helpful tables and diagrams to enhance clarity of ideas. The Integration of Employee Assistance, Work/Life, and Wellness Services examines the unique aspects of integrated programs at: • University of Arizona • Johns Hopkins University • University of California-Berkeley • Motorola • Wells Fargo • Ceridian • Ernst and Young • Fairview Hospital • US House of Representatives, State of Minnesota EAP • Australia, the United Kingdom, and Europe This book is essential reading for all Human Relations Professionals particularly those connected with their EAP, work/life, and wellness services, as well as students in related fields.
